Dhwanil began his investment journey in 2009 influenced by the value investing philosophy. He started his investing journey as a deep value investor following the learnings from Benjamin Graham. However, over a period of time he has incorporated learnings from noted value investors across the world including Phillip Fischer, Peter Lynch, Howard Marks, Seth Klarman, and Prof. Sanjay Bakshi in his investment philosophy. Dhwanil’s investment philosophy revolves around identifying high quality businesses run by able and ethical management at early stages and buying them at substantial discount to its intrinsic value to generate above average risk adjusted returns for long period of time. He is a strong believer in the importance of adhering to defined investment process to weed out behavioural biases and developing patience and discipline. Since start of his investment journey, he has consistently outperformed the market by a significant margin.
He became full time investor in 2014 and currently manages his own portfolio and fund from family, friends and clients. Before becoming full time investor, he was working with PricewaterhouseCoppers’s oil & gas consulting team. He has done Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Gujarat University and MBA from Ohio, USA.
